The Specification Manager will focus on establishing and growing Burgtec's presence within the Melbourne CBD market. The primary objective is to target particular architects and designers, building strong relationships to drive the specification of Burgtec products. The role involves hybrid working conditions with 30% in the showroom and 70% visiting architects and specifiers.

Over the last 40 years, Burgtec has remained at the forefront of design, continually injecting new products into our already well-established range of task chairs, workstations, tables, storage systems + complimentary visitor, breakout, and soft seating pieces.

Burgtec maintains the traditional values of exceptional quality, attention to detail, superior market-leading design, and customer-focused service. Our in-house research and development facility works closely with our customers, to achieve beautifully designed functional furniture.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face drop-ins and meetings with architects and specifiers from target lists, focusing on increasing specified projects and regional sales.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with new specifiers. Key KPIs will track these interactions and outcomes.
  • Execute strategies to foster and grow specifier relationships in the VIC market, including periodic rapport-building interactions.
  • Be creative in finding ways to connect with architects and specifiers, ensuring persistent follow-up and engagement.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business. Respond promptly and professionally to inbound inquiries, providing accurate information and building rapport.
  • Work as a hunter, never taking no for an answer and finding innovative solutions to penetrate the market.
  • Track and report the number of projects specified and new specifiers who commence specifying Burgtec products.
  • Use HubSpot to manage customer relationships, track activities, and analyze data to improve engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate and conduct engaging client showroom visits, showcasing Burgtec's office furniture offerings.
  • Deliver compelling and insightful product presentations tailored to client needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate closely with existing teams, including Marketing and Product teams, to ensure seamless customer experiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a sales or client-facing marketing role within the furniture, design, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Victorian market and key players in the commercial specification space.
  • In-depth knowledge of the specification process, particularly in working with architects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and rapport-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Strong work ethic and a results-driven mindset, with a track record of exceeding activity KPIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and address client pain points and build strong relationships
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage a hybrid working schedule efficiently.
  • Tenacity and a hunter mentality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in training sessions
