The expected salary range for this position is $29.94 - $37.43. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Compassion's Fellowship program is a 9-month (September-May) opportunity for recent graduates and early career professionals to join innovative teams at Compassion in working on new and exciting projects in the organization. Fellows are entry-level contributors who are developed over these 9-months to be equipped to take the lead on projects in the future. Each Fellow is paired with a mentor who will offer them 1:1 coaching throughout this season with Compassion. They will also participate in various professional development opportunities such as conferences with other organizations, Q&A times with innovative Thought-Leaders at Compassion, and understanding their strengths and contributions in the workforce.

Please Note: This is a temporary position from September 3, 2024 to May 30, 2025. Fellows must be available to travel for a retreat in Washington from October 4-6.

Overview

Do you enjoy working with data? Do you care about supporting the collection of high-quality data for children and youth neighbor groups? Compassion is looking for a recent college graduate or early career professional to be a part of an exciting 9-month fellowship as a Data Management Fellow. This fellow will work in the Global Program department to foster systems that minimize error and facilitate the collection of reliable, valid data. This fellow will provide in-depth data expertise to conduct analysis, identify trends, formulate reports, and make recommendations based on findings to improve data quality. Further, this specialist will support the team to advise leaders at the National or Regional Office, as well as Global Leaders, on these subjects and related technical issues around data quality.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Supports overall holistic child development and provides ongoing subject matter expertise in collecting, advising on the collection of, and using high quality data to measure program inputs, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Aids National Office M&E team, Business Analyst, partnership facilitators, program support team and church partners, by providing coaching and knowledge to foster high quality data collection.
  • Will support the team to provide technical advice on data quality to national office, regional, and global staff. Growing depth and breadth of knowledge in field of expertise educates others regarding industry standards, national policies and best practices.
  • Develops national or global level tools and instruments for use throughout the monitoring function that enable the program team to conduct empirical assessment to keep track of progress towards data quality through generation of monitoring and evaluation reports.
  • Develops automated processes, systems, and tools to ensure high quality throughout lifecycle of scaling data collection. Advises and trains national and global staff on these processes, systems, and tools.
  • Collaborate and consults with IT in the development of products to ensure adherence to data governance, security guidelines, and data architecture standards. Serves as a subject matter expert regarding partner compliance and adherence to national or global standards, procedures, and policies related to data quality, especially data collection of child, church, and intervention focused data.
  • Collaborates with M&E team, Business Analysts, partnership facilitators, national, regional, or global program support team members and leaders, to provide insight and expertise regarding data quality
  • Monitors all child focused dashboards, data collection dashboards, and data quality dashboards, to track critical program dimensions and data quality and enables the National Office to see meaningful improvements or decline in data quality.
  • Conducts complex analysis and interpretation of dashboard metrics movement and makes recommendations to the partnership facilitator, program support, and the National Office Leadership Team as needed.
  • May coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the monitoring and evaluation discipline around data quality.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Technical certifications (AWS, coding, etc.) preferred.
  • Available to travel to Washington October 6-8, 2023.
