Overview

As a User Acceptance/Quality Assurance Tester, your role will be pivotal in ensuring quality and usability of various applications across multiple web and mobile platforms (iOS, iPadOS, Android, and macOS). You’ll be engaging in functional, usability, regression, and exploratory testing. Given the moderately difficult nature of your assignments, you’ll need to exercise judgement in resolving and making recommendations. This calls for a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Executing tasks to excellence demonstrates your commitment to delivering high quality results.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Act as an advocate to raise awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks, and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive UAT test plans, test cases, and automated scripts.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues to resolution.
  • Document risks and the analysis of the product if release is to occur with bugs or defects
  • Perform end-to-end regression testing when defects are resolved and learn the impact of issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of testing activities within the Agile workflow.
  • Continuously learn and apply Agile principles and best practices to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
  • Stay up to date on fresh testing tools and processes.
  • Conduct analysis on business processes and technology to ensure the product and expectations are understood.
  • Review UI/UX for consistent functionality and expectations.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Three years of relevant professional experience, including at least one year of mobile-specific experience
  • Proven experience as a User Acceptance Tester and Manual QA Tester, with a focus on mobile app testing
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with Salesforce and NetSuite
  • Preferred: Past business experience with software development teams and/or software quality assurance
  • Familiarity with testing tools and bug tracking systems
  • Preferred: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process environment
  • Preferred: Certification in Agile (SAFe, Agile Tester) is a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices for mobile applications
