In this role you will be responsible for leading the team which is accountable for all aspects of Experian UKI’s regulatory change and engagement activities. Supporting the team during a twelve month period to cover maternity leave you and your team will be responsible for identifying opportunities for our business, as well as ensuring we implement required changes and engage effectively with our regulators.

Experian is regulated by the FCA and our relationship with our supervision team is critical in ensuring that we can continue to operate successfully. The identification, interpretation and appropriate implementation of new regulations from FCA and other regulators is a fundamental requirement of operating within our regulatory environment.

What you’ll need to bring to the role & Experian

We are seeking for an individual who can:

  • Work autonomously to lead our Regulatory Affairs team
  • Build networks quickly and grasp the complexities of our organisation and its regulated components
  • Act as an external interface to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, engaging them at the right time and in a way that drives collaboration and pace
  • Rapidly build your relationship and credibility with our regulators to maintain the positive engagement we currently have

Requirements

Work that matters - What you’ll be doing

  • Own the process to identify, assess and communicate regulatory changes affecting our business, our activities and products or which are relevant to the markets we serve.
  • Educate and support our organisation's understanding of the regulatory environment, especially where this will benefit Senior Managers and Certified Persons in maintaining standards of compliance.
  • Working with our Government Affairs team, seek to influence the thinking of regulators in areas of strategic importance to Experian.
  • Operate an effective process for the analysis, oversight and management of regulatory change, driving pragmatic and timely delivery across the organisation. Providing insight on the impact and timing of changes through management information and key performance and risk information data.

Manage Experian's day to day relationship with regulators, co-ordinating our responses to requests for information, supporting with drafting of consultation responses, managing direct engagements between 1LoD and the FCA/ICO and supporting the Compliance Director in maintaining Experian's standing with our supervisors.

More about you

  • Experience of engagement with FCA or other UK regulators
  • A good understanding of the regulatory environment in the UK, ideally both FCA and ICO, including key areas such as SMCR, the permissions regime, Consumer Duty, operational resilience and outsourcing
  • Skills to influence senior stakeholders to deliver at pace
  • A collaborative and open mindset, and ability to coordinate and drive multiple strands of activity with a range of key stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
