YOUR ROLE

As a Designer at PrettyLittleThing you'll be responsible for designing and developing ranges in line with current trend, customer profiles and brand direction. Within this role you will focus on creating innovative designs for the long lead department, including denim, outerwear and knitwear by using inspiration from a variety of different sources. This role is based out of our PLT office in Ancoats, Central Manchester and working with a strong and influential team of Senior Designers and directly with the Head of Design.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Ability to design across multi fashion product areas (denim, outerwear, knitwear)
  • Deliver balanced and extensive design research e. g. using directional shopping, fabric fairs, catwalk awareness to create unique stand out product lines
  • Monitor and evaluate the commercial potential of designs within own area and can articulate key shapes and volume lines
  • Responsible for creation of concept board/packs for design presentations ensuring all research/items are sourced to represent key messages
  • Create technical packs consistent for suppliers to translate. Wide technical knowledge utilised to support technical team to create best fit garments reflecting relevant blocks
  • Liaising with peers within the Buying and Merchandising teams to fully support the overall delivery of a profitable and commercial range whilst helping to drive a wider awareness of trend and innovation through the business
  • Adheres to the brand CP and departmental deadlines to ensure your product is available for all key meetings and deadlines
  • Travel to our supplier bases for seasonal sourcing of key fabric and new opportunities and ideas
  • Take ownership of category, ensuring your product is available for all look book / campaigns and ecommerce shoots
  • Flexibility to travel locally between our London and Manchester offices and offshore when required.

MORE ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience within a previous design role (multi-product- ideally with some experience in either denim, outerwear or knitwear).
  • Outstanding commercial awareness and comprehensive understanding of womenswear trends.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of working with other product teams and external suppliers to build productive relationships
  • Proficient Computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Comfortable working at pace. Agility is something you pride yourself on.
