We are seeking an experienced and results oriented Talent Acquisitions and Development Manager to join our team. In this critical and hands on role, you will be responsible for attracting, recruiting and developing top talent that is essential to Yee Hong’s success. You will manage the entire talent acquisition process, from candidate sourcing to onboarding/orientation to building initiatives to foster employee growth and development. The role will leverage data analytics and AI tools to optimize recruitment strategies and talent development programs in a competitive market. Additionally you will be responsible for effective stakeholder management, ensuring alignment and collaboration across various departments. The ideal candidate will poses a strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to build a capable and thriving workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Drive full-cycle talent acquisition process, leading employment marketing initiatives, creating and initiating sourcing strategies, interviewing, and providing hiring recommendations.
    • Engages in leading practices and innovative talent sourcing methods to attract top caliber candidates and develop a pipeline of talent to meet current and future needs, including networking, job boards, social media, digital media, career fairs, agencies, leveraging technology and campus recruitment.
  • Develops and sustains strong, collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify, resolve, and coordinate efforts in relation to strategic talent management programs and initiatives.
  • Conducts ongoing measurement and assessment of the talent acquisition process and related performance measures; uses key metrics to drive continuous improvements regarding recruitment decisions and the quality of hires. Conducts ongoing analysis of market trends and competitor practices to ensure competitive positioning in talent acquisition and engagement
    • Adapt strategies based on market intelligence and organizational needs
  • Develops and manages talent acquisition budgets, policies, and procedures.
  • Accountable for ensuring all recruiting activities and employment requirements are consistent with the policies and standards of the Ministry of Long-term Care, Ministry of Health and any other applicable legislation and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Oversees, develops, and implements process improvement for talent acquisition and development, onboarding, and orientation.
  • Evaluates and measures new hire experience.
  • Negotiates initial fees for contracted services and works closely to ensure completion and satisfactory performance. Provides advice, influence, and education onleading practices in talent acquisition and development.

Talent Development: Partners with Chief of People, Learning & Development to:

  • Develop and execute programs for employee growth, development, including training, career progression and success planning initiatives
  • Manage the talent management and succession planning process
  • Assess and identify development needs through data driven approaches and employee feedback
  • Collaborate with Yee Hong leaders to create tailored development plans that align with business goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business or a related discipline; a CHRL is an asset
  • 5-7 years of experience in business growth, or services related to Talent Acquisition, with at least 4 years spent managing a team
  • Previous experience working in healthcare and/or working with a unionized environment an asset
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to balance big-picture planning with hands-on execution
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, and constructively dealing with ambiguity
  • Proven success working in highly competitive markets; high demand for health care positions, RN’s, RPN’s, Nurse Practitioners; in low supply market
  • Strong quantitative background, with a demonstrated ability to use data, metrics, and insights to drive decision-making and growth
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, networking and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively and influence people across various internal teams and external partnerships.
  • Competency in using various computer applications (MS Office, Social Media, etc.). Knowledge of Workday an asset.
  • Ability to travel within the GTA as required
