Are you ready to contribute to the heart of our publishing process? Pan Macmillan’s Publishing Operations department is excited to offer a promising opportunity for a dedicated Operations Controller. This full-time position is based in our Basingstoke office, and is a pivotal role in our operations team.

Your team:
The Publishing Operations team works in a dynamic environment where every day brings a new challenge. The team is responsible for the stock control of our titles across several warehouses. We’re a key part of the supply chain process with responsibility for ensuring our books get to our customers and readers.

Your role:
As a pivotal member of our close-knit Operations team, your work will directly influence the success of many of our titles. You will be responsible for stock forecasting and planning, navigating day-to-day operational logistics and more.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Warehouse stock control, ensuring timely replenishment for a robust supply chain
  • Provide rate-of-sale and invoicing data to colleagues
  • Attend and minute the weekly cross-company print meetings
  • Administration duties around contract and rights reversions, print-on-demand titles and the digital stocklist
  • Forge strong links with our suppliers, distributors and publishing colleagues, ensuring a strong supply chain.

Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:

  • Navigating complex systems: managing intricate operational processes across several databases and spreadsheets
  • Multitasking: prioritizing your workload, allowing you to make decisions in a fast-paced setting
  • Communication: your exceptional communication skills – always ensuring clarity, responsiveness and professionalism – will enable collaboration across teams
  • Problem solving: identifying challenges and efficient solutions.

This is a full-time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Basingstoke, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
