Corporate Project Coordinator

Location: New Credit or Brantford

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is a nonprofit organization that provides technical advisory services, training, and capacity development to First Nations communities in Ontario. By offering a wide range of specialized services and expertise, OFNTSC helps to enhance the quality of life, promote technical self-sufficiency, and foster economic growth within these communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented Corporate Project Coordinator to become a valuable member of our team at OFNTSC. Reporting to the Corporate Project Analyst, the Corporate Project Coordinator will contribute to OFNTSC’s successful delivery of projects and initiatives. This role demands high precision, excellent organizational abilities, and a solid commitment to supporting First Nations communities.

These tasks must be executed in alignment with the culture and values of OFNTSC while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Corporate Project Analyst in the daily coordination and management of projects, OFNTSC contracts, and RFP-related activities.
  • Support the delivery of the Reaching Home initiative to address homelessness within First Nations in Ontario.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data on homelessness and housing needs within First Nations communities.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including First Nations communities, funding agencies, and project partners.
  • Assisting with preparing and submitting project reports, ensuring compliance with funding agency requirements and project timelines.
  • Organize and schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes during project-related meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including correspondence, reports, and financial documentation.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for project events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with OFNTSC policies, procedures, and funding agency requirements.
  • Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business and/or project management.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of work-related experience in project coordination, preferably within a nonprofit or community development setting.
  • Understanding and respect for the cultural, social, and economic realities of First Nations communities.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with project management software is an asset.
  • Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement action plans promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborative approach with a willingness to support team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

Conditions:

  • Some out-of-town traveling is required through the province of Ontario.
  • Reliable, insured vehicle and Valid Class G driver’s license
  • This is a contract position with the possibility of becoming an indefinite (permanent) contract based on performance and organizational needs.
