Database Specialist

Our client, Belmont Lavan Ltd, is seeking a Database Specialist with expertise in Progress and Firebird databases for a 12-month contract position.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the company's databases, ensuring data integrity, and providing support to developers and end-users. You will also be involved in database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting database-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer Progress and Firebird databases.
• Design and implement database structures, tables, and schemas.
• Ensure database performance and availability.
• Perform database tuning and optimization.
• Implement security measures to protect data.
• Provide technical support to developers and end-users.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database issues.
