Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as our director of Product. This critical role will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and will be responsible for managing and leading our Product Management team. The candidate must have a near-obsessive desire to solve the customer’s problems. The candidate will lead their team to drive customer experience and achieve our business objectives. The candidate will develop and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for their product area by building an industry leading experience for our customers to achieve their respective goals. These digital products will be innovative, reliable, and scalable. They should support our competitive edge and enable us to expand into new verticals.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Product Development and Customer Experience

  • Lead the development of digital products in their topic area. Ensure that these products are scalable and easily usable for our clients (and where needed, within their systems), providing maximum value for the users.
  • Identify data products that solve complex supply chain business challenges at scale
  • Understand client needs and pain points and develop products that directly address these requirements.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the customer journey, testing programs, and supply chain ecosystem
  • Develop a strong understanding of how our customers use data to make decisions
  • Well-versed in a variety of technologies and platforms that optimize our products
  • Define, monitor, and track OKRs and health metrics and develop concrete point of view on insights to present to leadership
  • Prioritize and drive actionable and implementable strategies that produce tangible results, based upon relationship insight, competitive positioning, and industry research.
  • Collaborate with Customers, C-Suite, Delivery Ops, Marketing, Finance, OGS, Platform, Sales, to create an annual, product roadmap that delivers on the company’s OKRs.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to communicate the value proposition of your product to our teams and clients.

Oritain-as-a-Service/SaaS/DaaS, Product Led Experience (including agile and product mgmt. frameworks)

  • Well versed in SaaS/DaaS models to support B2B Product development
  • Contribute to the subscription model rollout including pricing and packaging
  • Keep up with the fast pace of the industry
  • Identify customer needs, understand their problems, and make data-driven decisions to improve customer experience.
  • Understand the buyer persona experience
  • Analyze existing products’ function & determine new features & requirements to enhance our customers’ user experience & ensure maximum potential usability
  • Adept at interpreting and maintaining timely qualitative and quantitative reports on product performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to get buy-in/approval/guidance, including lines of business such as Operations, Legal, IT Ops.
  • Drive the teams to understand the wider market opportunities and envision future commercially viable product features that support underserved user needs.
  • Ensure Agile is adopted across your team.
  • Establish data-lead decision making as a practice within your team.

Team Leadership, Product Culture and Development

  • Be an evangelist for our product
  • Ensure high-level performance of your product team
  • Ensure the smooth development of great products that deliver value to customers, and in turn, the organization.
  • Recruit and lead a team of high performing Product Managers, helping to develop their craft and career paths.
  • Continuously improve our team’s impact and productivity, building a culture of excellence.
  • Coach team members and level-up as necessary.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years equivalent experience managing product teams supporting multiple products.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to make appropriate tradeoffs in a timely manner to optimize time-to-market.
  • Is highly collaborative and able to develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Able to effectively balance the competing demands of innovation, quality, architectural/operational improvements & customer feedback.
  • Significant experience in agile project management, with experience applying Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
  • Experience in scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning for new products
  • Demonstrable prior experience aligning product roadmaps with other Company initiatives to ensure that the company achieves its objectives (OKRs).
  • Willingness to lead from the front by example, and able to operate in a small, growing business that requires further professionalism
  • Resilience and determination to succeed under pressure; evidence of succeeding in a high profile and high-pressured role.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones with a flexible schedule to accommodate global team meetings and project deadlines.
