Senior Relevance Engineer

At OLX, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Relevance Engineer to join our talented teams. As a key member of our technology division, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our search algorithms to enhance the user experience and ensure the accuracy and relevance of search results. We value engineers who have experience with architecting, building and scaling low-latency and high-throughput cloud-based systems, search platforms (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr) and custom search solutions, machine learning techniques for search enhancement, various indexing strategies, search analytics, text analysis techniques, AWS cloud services, incident management process, multi-functional team setup in a remote working environment, and programming languages such as JVM toolkit (Java/Kotlin) and Go. Your responsibilities will include playing an integral role within a dynamic Relevance team, fostering a culture of innovation, experimenting with novel machine learning approaches, collaborating closely with the product management team, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, and spearheading initiatives to enhance search quality through continuous refinement of ranking algorithms, query understanding mechanisms, and relevance models.
