About the opportunity

The Educational Innovation Team at the University of Sydney drives groundbreaking educational initiatives, enhancing teaching and learning through cutting-edge technology and innovative practices.

As the Senior Program Officer, you will provide specialist support and advice to ensure the effective implementation of project plans, activities, and tasks across multiple workstreams. This role is critical in driving the success of our projects by coordinating stakeholders and managing communication to achieve project deliverables.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Learning Design, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work closely with cross-functional teams and diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • provide project management support and advice to aid in the planning and establishment of projects
  • coordinate logistical aspects of multiple projects, managing team performance and resource allocation
  • generate detailed project activity reports, implementing necessary changes to ensure consistent progress toward milestones
  • develop and implement robust project governance procedures to monitor performance, mitigate risks, and support business case and audit report development
  • monitor project financials, track budgets, allocate costs effectively, and address any financial issues promptly
  • oversee the management and documentation of casual time sheets and work hours, and allocate project work to casual employees.

Due to the nature of this role and the team environment, the successful candidate will be required to be in the office full-time for the first few months for training purposes.

About you

Join us and contribute to the successful implementation of key projects that drive our strategic objectives and support within the Educational Innovation Team. We are looking for someone who has:

  • proven experience in project coordination within the tertiary environment or similar working experience
  • demonstrated experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • experience monitoring and tracking budgets and expenditure
  • proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems
  • strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively
  • excellent planning, organisation, and teamwork capabilities.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
