The Opportunity

We have a Production Manager (2IC) role available at Endurance Dairy Unit, the current 2IC is moving on after three years to further their career, making this a rare opportunity to join a dairy farm that’s part of Pāmu’s Taupo Pastoral Complex.

This is an opportunity for an experienced 2IC or are you a confident DA or a 3IC looking to take that next step.

You will work with a Farm Manager who is award winning and encourages everyone to bring their ideas to the table. You will help to manage the team daily with planning work, pasture management, farm maintenance and feeding out.

You will also relieve the Farm Manager when she is on leave, as a working team lead, you’ll confidently delegate work and carry on your own work independently and keep the farm running effectively and efficiently.

The Farm

Endurance Dairy is tucked away in the central plateau as part of Pāmu’s Taupo Pastoral Complex.

Endurance has a twice a day milking operation with 830 cows milked through a 54-bail rotary shed.

The farm team is made up of a team of four (including the Farm Manager) and they all lead by example. They work hard, look out for each other, and ensure the safety of our animals and our staff.

Excellent schooling options nearby. Friendly and supportive local community with school bus and easy access to a wide range of recreational activities.

About You

You’ll be good at planning and will have a strong understanding of dairy operations. With the support of the Farm Manager, you’ll help to identify areas where process improvements can be made. For the right person, this could be your next step up, so while leadership experience is preferred, it’s a nice to have.

You will also have:

· Experience in grazing, pasture management, animal health and feed budgeting

· A commitment to individual and team development

· Pasture management and feed planning skills

· High standards of animal welfare and commitment to health and safety

· Self-motivation and initiative

· Ideally you will have experience driving farm machinery/tractors
